ABOUT ME
|
I started computer programming when I worked for Nihon IST (system integration company) in 1999. The first project I was involved with was programming an account system in RPG(Report Program Generator, which is similar to Cobol). As a first time programmer, learning RPG on AS/400 was a good way to help me understand programming concepts and database programming.
After I had done some RPG projects, I also had opportunities to work with Visual Basic 6 and PL/SQL. It was challenging for me to program with new languages after getting used to RPG, but I found them more fun and useful. Actually, Visual Basic code is very similar to many of other programming languages. So that experience helped me learn web programming languages afterward.
After three years as a system engineer/ programmer, I made up my mind to enter the internet industry. I wanted to brush up my English as well, so I flew to Canada in 2002 and started to learn web development at Bodwell Internet School.
During the eight month Internet Development Diploma program, I have learned various internet skills such as graphic design, web programming languages, database design, and project management. My main focus was learning web programming; PHP, ASP, ColdFusion, JavaScript, etc.
After finishing Diploma program and internship, I worked for some companies as a contract web developer. There I got more practical experience and taking advantage of the skills I acquired in Bodwell.
From 2005 to 2007, I worked for an internet marketing company as a full-time web developer. There I had opportunities to work on search engine optimization and web marketing in addition to programming.
All the hard and patient work in Vancouver has been worth it. I am confident that I obtained the basic skills of what it takes to be a sophisticated internet developer. So far my strongest skill is programming, I would also like to challenge myself with other aspects of the internet.
I will do my best to provide high quality and professionally programmed websites that satisfy clients.
